Mr Jarlath O’Reilly opened the practice in 2000. Over the years it grew into a well-established family practice. Jarlath retired in the summer of 2019 handing over the reins to his former associate Catherine O’Gorman and new business partner Tracey Campbell. Catherine and Tracey trained together in Queen’s University Belfast and have a combined dental experience of 34 years. Tracey and Catherine are passionate about providing high quality dentistry, ensuring their patients have access to the latest techniques and treatments. In 2020 we become a recognised training practice and put in a third dental chair. We offer a wide range of NHS and Private Dentistry including cosmetic, orthodontic and facial line softening treatments.
We put our patients’ needs first and strive to continue improving our services. We welcome any comments at reception.

Simply use the phone and it will be answered by a very helpful receptionist who will listen carefully to what you have to say. If you are in pain, you will be seen ever so soon. Whilst visiting the Practice, there is a lovely family friendly atmosphere combined with expert professional care and attention. This homely approach is most impressive - especially for children, as it takes away any fear that one may have of going to the dentist. Such has been my experience over many years. Firstly I want to start by saying i’ve been a patient of Traceys for many years, Ive even followed her from Belfast to Banbridge as I wouldn’t have anyone else treat me. She is extremely professional and highly skilled in her field of work. I’m very anxious, like many people about visiting the dentist and each and every time Tracey’s calm and caring nature makes me feel at ease as she always takes the time to reassure me before starting any treatment. Over the years I’ve underwent many dental procedures/treatment from professional cleaning, fillings, teeth whitening, 6 months smile, composites to botox all done to a very high, excellent standard and I’ve never had any issues with procedures/treatments I’ve received but i’m sure if I did Tracey would solve it ASAP, as she cares about her patients and treatment she provides for them. I want to take this opportunity to thank Tracey Campbell for always providing me with the best dental and cosmetic care over the years. I would also like to say a special thank-you to all the staff at Downshire Dental Practise for their lovely, welcoming presence from the minute I enter the building until the moment I leave.
Top quality job actioned by Tracey and the team. Years of dealing with a broken tooth which was removed and replaced to a very high standard. Tracey wasn’t happy with the first and sent it back, I thought it was perfect! Attention to detail.A course of teeth whitening followed and I have to say I couldn’t be happier. I am in my late 50’s and until I met Catherine some years ago I have always been petrified of dentists (had a bad experience as a child) with her calm and confident manner that fear is no longer present.I would urge anyone who has a fear/phobia of dentists go and meet her. I can,without hesitation recommend this surgery.
I have been coming to Downshire Dental Surgery for some years now and have always experienced a friendly and professional service from Catherine and her staff. I am a diabetic, so looking after your teeth and gums are of paramount importance. To assist me further I am able to avail of the services of Michelle, (Dental Hygienist) who has been keeping me on track. I can highly recommend them.
